Tay Boat Trips

MVS Tay runs boat trips for the public during Spring/ Summer/ Autumn.

Badger and Marigot are also available for public and commercial hire

Badger nd Marigot give members of the public the opportunity to see the River Tay as it should be seen - from the water. Boat trips are currently run from Woodhaven in Fife and from Broughty Ferry near Dundee, and the use of several other havens suitable for embarking passengers safely is under consideration.

The Maritime Volunteer Service in Dundee also hires Badger and Marigot to individuals and to organisations for a wide variety of purposes. These include -
  • Private hire for pleasure trips

  • Use as a camera vessel for filming
    		•
  • Security patrols for maritime events
    		•
  • Scattering of ashes 
  • Wildlife watching on the Tay
    		•
  • Corporate trips and events
    		•

    Badger with a Grampian Television film crew during the filming of a recent documentary on the Tay Rail Bridge disaster.

    Badger at the Tay Rail Bridge during 2005’s season of trips commemorating the disaster. These trips culminated in a wreath laying ceremony conducted at the scene.

    Proceeds from both vessels’ trips are spent on their maintenence and surplus funds go to the North Carr Lightship restoration fund.
