North Carr’s Foghorn and Light Tower have a sculptural beauty of their own, of the kind that only shipbuilders, bridgebuilders and other practitioners of heavy engineering achieve.

Admission is free although donations to the North Carr restoration fund are welcome, should you wish to make one.

...and at Hogmanay she really comes alive with her main light flashing and her foghorn blasting in the New Year.
Some of our members certainly feel the decks move at our New Year party. (The blurring in this picture is the consequence of a slow shutter speed) ....and lots of funny lights.
It’s not often that a piper get’s deafened - but North Carr’s New Year foghorn blast does the business with merciless style.
