Badger ready for re-launching - Feb. 2007

Maintenance and refits are carried out by our unit members. This provides us with the best ongoing practical training in all aspects of maintaining seaworthy vessels.

Routine manintenance and repairs are carried on throughout the year. Annual refits are carried out in the first part of each year at Davy Anderson’s boatyard in Newport Fife..

Click Badger’s refit for an account of the work carried out during her 2004 refit.

In 2007, work on Badger should be completed by February, work on Sparling and Marigot will commence immediately after this.

Training in boat maintenance will take place alongside North Carr or on the slipway when the vessels are out of the water.

Two shiny new propellors for Badger

Badger is a 34 ft Nelson class launch, on loan from HM Customs. She is a superb seaworthy craft powered by two Leyland 200 hp turbocharged diesels.

A dustmask and a happy disposition can be quite valuable at times like this.
