Two trips on Sunday morning (6th August) gave us our best dolphin sightings ever. The new "Tay Dolphins" page on the website features photographs exclusively from these two trips.

This pod seemed to be about thirty strong split into several smaller groups.

Prints are now available of selected images from this website.

Boat rescue

While returning to Broughty Ferry Harbour on the last trip of the day, Marigot replied to a call for any vessel in the vicinity of Tayport to check on a stationary motor cruiser that a member of the public was concerned about. On approaching we found that the vessel "Maid Marion" had engine trouble and we took her in tow.

Approaching Maid Marion to give a stern tow.
With the rope attached to her starboard cleat, Marigot gently takes up the slack.
Badger disembarked her passengers at the Pilot Pier and took over the tow, allowing us to let our own passengers off and proceed to Newport.
Badger continued the tow to allow us to come alongside at Newport as the tide was starting to get quite low
Before coming alongside, Badger changed to a side tow, enabling Maid Marion to come alongside easily.

Helpful lads Deryck Thomson and Dave Paterson give what we think is a thumbs up.
