MVS Tay is the Dundee branch of the Maritime Volunteer Service.

The Maritime Volunteer Service promotes the education and the training of members of the public in all aspects of maritime skills, including training in boathandling and seamanship, navigation, communications, onshore support and marine engineering.

Our Boats are all crewed and skippered by our members, people who joined us to learn or perhaps to teach the skills we need to take to the water safely and responsibly and to maintain the vessels to a high standard of seaworthiness.

The Dundee branch of the Maritime Volunteer Service is one of the largest in Britain with a fleet of 5 vessels. Every aspect of running this seagoing unit is carried out by our own membership

We are looking for people who wish to train as crew, skippers, engineers, communications personnel, shore support, as well as people interested in working on the restoration of a historic vessel. If you have an interest in the sea or in boats - consider contacting us.
